It was at this time that young, enthusiastic dales youngsters Geoff and Carl entered the story straight from school and started to learn their trade at the sharp end. After several happy years a situation arose that could have stopped the story in its tracks. The boys were left with a decision to either get a proper job or buy the brewery outright, seeing the potential, fortunately they chose the latter.
Strong foundations and a fresh approach saw the brewery continue to grow and expand, along with fantastic local support seeing our beers featured in many bars across the dales, the beloved Bellerby barn was bursting at the seams and a move was inevitable. Premises were found only 2 miles away in Leyburn and all brand new, sparkling equipment for a 12-barrel plant was installed.
This has been our home since 2018 and continued growth has seen our delivery areas expand dramatically, with weekly runs taking us from the South Yorkshire border up to Tyneside and from the East Coast to Cumbria, now the Wensleydale Brewery Brand is known far and wide. That along with our on-site brewery shop and a special events bar we hope the future is rosy. Look on our News page and social media to be kept up to date with current beers, merchandise and upcoming plans.
